Journal History

Indonesian Journal of International Studies (2014-2015)

Global South Review initially published as Multiversa. Multiversa published the first volume on 2010, and the last on 2013, before it changed its publishing name into Indonesian Journal of International Studies (IJIS) before. IJIS was only available in printed version. During its two years of existence from 2014 to 2015, IJIS released two volumes, each consist of two issues. The last issue of IJIS (Vol. 2, Issue 2) was arranged as part of the Bandung Beyond Conference 2015, organized by the Department of IR UGM in collaboration with the University of Queensland. IJIS published several papers presented at the conference.

Moving to OJS and Rebranded as Global South Review

Following the conference, the editorial board decided to adopt Online Journal System (OJS) publishing system and to create a more focused series. The journal then rebranded as Global South Review in order to provide an academic platform to exchange views within the Global South, as well as between the Global South and the Global North.

Since 2016, the publication has been suspended to set the OJS publishing system. The first issue of Global South Review is set to be published in 2019.

Limited Resource(s) Due to Pandemic (2021)

Due to the limited resources majorly caused by the pandemic, Global South Review encountered a publication pause and there was only one issue being published that year.
