Jurnal Filsafat has been published since 1990, provides a forum for scientific communication of thought and research of philosophy. From 1990 to 1993, Jurnal Filsafat was published four editions in a year. In the current edition, Jurnal Filsafat is published twice a year, i.e. February and August with ISSN: 0853-1870 (printed) and ISSN: 2528-6811 (online).

From 1994 to 2013, Jurnal Filsafat was published three editions in a year.
Beginning in 2006, Jurnal Filsafat added a tagline of "Wisdom".
Beginning in 2014, Jurnal Filsafat removed the "Wisdom" tagline, updated the cover and layout design, and changed the frequency of publishing into two editions in a year, i.e. February and August editions.
Starting in 2015, Jurnal Filsafat not only provides the printed edition, but also the online edition, with ISSN: 2528-6811 (online).
Starting in 2018, Jurnal Filsafat added header on every article which contains information about volume, edition, page number, ISSN, and DOI.
In 2018, Jurnal Filsafat has been certified as an Accredited Scientific Journal at Rank 2, issued by The Ministry of Research and Higher Education of the Republic of Indonesia (The Ministry Decree No. 21/E/KPT/2018, July 9th 2018). This accreditation applied to Vol. 26 No. 1 2016 until Vol. 30 No. 2 2020.
In 2020, since the last publication Vol. 30 No. 2 2020, Jurnal Filsafat successfully retained the SINTA 2 or Scientific Journal at Rank 2 level in Indonesian Journal Indexing (Arjuna) based on The Ministry Decree No. 200/M/KPT/2020, December 23rd, 2020). This accreditation applied to Vol. 30 No. 1 2020 until Vol. 34 No. 2 2024 here.

In 2024, Jurnal Filsafat has started research, development, and publication collaboration with several professional associations, namely Himpunan Dosen Etika Seluruh Indonesia (HIDESI) and Asosiasi Aqidah dan Filsafat Islam (ASAFI). We hope to extend our potential with several other collaborators in the near future.
