Author Guidelines 

The Editorial Board of ASEAN Journal of CI-EL Applied Philosophy welcomes article submissions in accordance with the following guidelines:  

1. Articles have not been published or accepted for publication or are being considered for publication elsewhere. 
2. Types of articles suitable for publication include research reports, conceptual ideas, studies, and theory applications in the field of philosophy.
3. Articles are written only in English using academic language and standard academic writing structure and composition. Manuscripts are typed 1 spaced on a B5 sized-paper (approx. 18 x 25 cm), between 5000 – 8000 words including references, pictures, and tables. The margins of the manuscript are 3 cm for the left and top sides, and 2 cm for the right and bottom sides.
4. Article should be in the form of an essay which includes:

• Title (author should perform thare manuscript's applied philosophy and business perspectives).
• Author’s name (without academic degree) with institution’s name and an e-mail address.
• Abstract in Indonesian and English (150-200 words for each), which includes: (1) the main question; (2) objectives; (3) methods and framework; and (4) the main result.
• Keywords in English and Indonesian (maximum 5 words),
• Introduction section (without subsection, 2-3 pages), which includes background of your research and your current research position among other research on related themes; methods, literature review, theoretical construct of the research. The introduction section ends with an emphasis on items to be discussed. 
• Discussion section, which includes the analysis and synthesis of data. You may discuss every aspect of the issue individually in this section. It is necessary to build an argument and to provide original data discussed and compared to research and works of other scholars. It is possible to add sections as needed. In this section, the author should point out the novelty of the manuscript and give arguments why it is essential to be discussed.
• The conclusion must state: (1) answers to the research questions, (2) main arguments, and (3) critical comprehension of main issues being discussed.
• References should include primary and supporting texts and show current publication in the relevant area. References should be accessible by everyone.

2. ASEAN Journal of CI-EL Applied Philosophy uses in-text citation format (not footnotes nor endnotes). The guideline for an in-text citation is provided in the following link: https://apastyle.apa.org/style-grammar-guidelines/citations/basic-principles/author-date.
   

• The format of the author element of the in-text citation changes depending on the number of authors and is abbreviated in some cases.
• Include the author name(s) in every citation for a work with one or two authors.

• One author: Parenthetical citation: (Luna, 2020); Narrative Citation: Luna (2020). 
• Two authors: Parenthetical citation: (Salas & D’Agostino, 2020); Narrative Citation: Salas and D’Agostino (2020).
• For a work with three or more authors, include the name of only the first author plus “et al.” in every citation (even the first citation). For example: (Martin et al., 2020) or Martin et al. (2020).

1. Bibliography should appear at the end of the article and include only works of literature actually cited in the manuscripts. References are ordered alphabetically and chronologically.  ASEAN Journal of CI-EL Applied Philosophy uses modified-APA Style citation and bibliography 6^th edition. APA Style citation and bibliography guidelines can be found in the following link https://apastyle.apa.org/style-grammar-guidelines/references/examples.  
2. It’s highly recommended that the authors use the references management software, in this case, Mendeley. Herewith are some of the APA-based reference format structure:

The manuscript text must be submitted to ASEAN Journal of CI-EL Applied Philosophy by following procedure:

1. Submitting document should be done by Online Submission System in the ASEAN Journal of CI-EL Applied Philosophy e-journal portal HERE.
2. First, the author should register as an author or reviewer (checking role as author or reviewer) in the “Register” or HERE.
3. After registration completed, log in as an author, click in “New Submission”. The article submission stage consists of five stages:  (1). Start, (2). Upload Submission, (3). Enter Metadata, (4). Upload Supplementary Files, (5). Confirmation.
4. In the “Start” column, choose Journal Section (Article), check all the checklists.
5. In the “Upload Submission” Columns, upload the manuscript files at Microsoft Word format in this column.
6. In the “Enter Metadata” columns, fill out all the author data and affiliation. Following the manuscript title, abstract and indexing keywords.
7. In the “Confirmation” columns, if all the data that you enter were right, then click “Finish Submission”.
8. If the author has difficulties in the submitting process via online system, please contact ASEAN Journal of CI-EL Applied Philosophy Editorial team at rahmatalfianto@ugm.ac.id or mahaswa@ugm.ac.id
9. Authors will be notified of the receipt of manuscripts and editorial decisions (whether the articles are accepted or not) by e-mail. Manuscripts that are not published will not be returned to the authors. 

Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors who do not adhere to these guidelines.

1. The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
2. The submission file is in Microsoft Word, RTF, or WordPerfect document file format.
3. Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
4. The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points rather than at the end.
5. The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines, which are found in About the Journal.
6. If submitting to a peer-reviewed journal section, the instructions in Ensuring Blind Review have been followed.
