SASDAYA: Gadjah Mada Journal of Humanities (GMJH), is a scientific journal on the sciences of the Humanities Sciences, especially related to Literary and Cultural issues (archaeology, history, economics, geography, language, law, political science, anthropology and religious studies) especially about Southeast Asia.

Peer Review Process

The reviews will be conducted in the Double-Blind Review process. Normal turnaround time for evaluation of the manuscript is 2 months from the date of receipt. 

Step of Review Process

1. Author submits article (online submission)
2. Articles are assessed by the editor (Initial Review)
3. The result of the assessment: Accepted for the next process
or declined
    3.1. Accepted for the next process: Articles are sent to the reviewer
    3.2. Articles reject
4. Reviewer articles are sent back to editors
5. Editor's decision on the reviewed article
    5.1. Articles are accepted without revision (Revision is completed). The next process are

         (a) Language editing (Author's responsibility),

         (b) Author submits a final article, attached by a letter of proofread statement from the native editor. The next, the author completes the payment, author sign the letter of publication agreement, and Articles are sen to layout-copyediting. Finally, Articles are completely accepted and ready to publish (Published right in the next issue and save in database for upcoming issues. 

5.2. Articles are accepted with minor revision. Author is welcome to resubmit the revised article with some OJS account. After revision is completed, the author follows procedure point 5.1.

5.3. Article is accepted with major revision. The author is welcome to resubmit the article with the same OJS account for reassessed by editors (initial review). After Author revises and resubmits articles on the same OJS account, the authors follow from the point. 3 to the final step.

5.4. Declined. All rejected articles are not processed and returned.

Publication Frequency

SASDAYA: Gadjah Mada Journal of Humanities is published twice a year (November and May).

Since Volume 3. No. 1, 2019, SASDAYA: Gadjah Mada Journal of Humanities will be published in February and August.

Open Access Policy

This journal provides immediate open access to its content on the principle that making research freely available to the public supports a greater global exchange of knowledge.

Archiving

This journal utilizes the LOCKSS system to create a distributed archiving system among participating libraries and permits those libraries to create permanent archives of the journal for purposes of preservation and restoration. More...

SASDAYA: Gadjah Mada Journal of Humanities

SASDAYA: Gadjah Mada Journal of Humanities (GMJH), is a multidisciplinary scientific journal with the primary aim of exchanging, developing, and disseminating of the sciences Humanities, especially those related to Literary and Cultural issues (archeology, history , economics, geography, language, law, political science, anthropology and religious studies) on Southeast Asia. Articles published in journals are based on research results, fieldwork, and literature studies (development of theory) by first through a peer-reviewed process. SASDAYA, Gadjah Mada The Journal of Humanities is published twice a year (November and May). The Management of the journal invites academic, researcher, and intellectual practitioners to submit their critical writing to contribute to the development of the humanities sciences.

Screening for Plagiarism

The manuscript submitted to the Sasdaya Journal is examined through the Screening Plagiarism machine, Turnitin, to check whether or not there are elements of plagiarism in the article. In accordance with the ethics of our publication, manuscripts found that have a degree of similarity that cannot be accepted with the article submitted will be immediately rejected.

Publication Ethics

This is strictly to academic ethics for the duplication of article publication. The contributors (authors) must provide a written declaration that the manuscript submitted to the Sasdaya Journal has never been published and is not being considered for publication elsewhere. In addition, we are committed to ensuring that all article senders are genuine. Therefore, our journal editorial is responsible for double-blind peer review to ensure that the submitted text has never been published before it is sent to the Sasdaya Journal.

• There is a Sasdaya boundary in examining the submitted work. Therefore, we ask external reviewers to report any violations to us via email: sasdayajournal.fib@ugm.ac.id so that immediate action is taken.
• Sasdaya can revoke publications in Sasdaya, if a work / article is considered fraudulent, or if the Sasdaya editor has reasonable suspicions or errors. In addition, Sasdaya can facilitate replacement, if needed. For each author the original article cannot be changed.
• Neither peer-reviewer comments or correspondence should contain personal attacks on the author. Editors and peer reviewers should only criticize the work, not the researcher and must edit (or reject) the letter containing a personal or offensive statement.

Authors of articles in Sasdaya Journal must adhere to the following guidelines:

• The resulting work must balance intellectual contributions to the concept, design, analysis, and writing of the script in relation to research.
• The author must state that the work reported is theirs and that they are the copyright owner (or have obtained permission from the copyright owner).
• The author must state that the articles submitted and the basic content have never been published and are not considered for publication elsewhere.
• The author must avoid disputes about attribution of academic credit. Therefore, it is helpful to decide that you will be credited as the appropriate author, contributor, and who will be recognized. Every article written by more than one person must submit its contribution to the article written.
• Authors must take public responsibility for their paper / article content. It is unethical to send manuscripts to more than one journal.
• Every conflict of interest must be clearly stated.
• Authors must acknowledge their research data sources and must be given financial support for research if any.
• All errors found in the text after submission must be communicated to the Editor.
• Authors must state that the paper they have submitted has been approved by the relevant research ethics committee or institutional review board. If all authors are involved, the text must be signed with a statement that the participant has signed the consent form.
• Authors must submit a brief description of all contributions to their text (according to the guide). The contribution of each author must be explained in the letter. Authors or research papers must be able to find that they have complete access to study data that support publication. Contributors who do not qualify as authors must also be registered and their specific contributions explained adequately. This information will appear as an acknowledgment.
• Authors must enter information about their research funds in their text if any.

• The author has the right to appeal the editorial decision.

Reviewers from the Sasdaya Journal must adhere to the following guidelines:

• All texts are reviewed fairly based on the level of expertise. And, it must be free from consideration of gender, race, ethnicity, religion, citizenship, and political values of the author.
• Any conflicts of interest observed during the review process must be communicated to the editor.
• All information relating to the manuscript is kept confidential.
• Any information that may be needed for denial of publication must be communicated to the Editor.
• The confidentiality task in the assessment of the text must be maintained by an expert reviewer and must be explained to the reviewer by showing certain parts.
• Manuscripts sent may not be saved or copied.
• Reviewers and editors may not use any data, arguments or interpretations unless they have author permission.
• Reviewers must provide reports that are fast, accurate, polite, impartial, and justifiable.
