Populasi is a journal discussing population and policy issues. Populasi is published regularly twice a year in June and December. The Editorial Board receives manuscripts based onreseach, both on theoretical and empirical, related to population, policy, poverty, family planning, reproduction health, employment,enviroment and population, migration, crime, juvenile delinquency, and other issues related to the big theme in population and policy. 

The population is published twice a year, every June and December published by the Center for Population and Policy Studies, Universitas Gadjah Mada (CPPS UGM). The population of Volume 1 Number 1 was published in June 1990 with ISSN number 0853-0262 (print media) and  an online ISSN (2476-941X) on October 21, 2015.
