Registration and login are required to submit items online and to check the status of current submissions.
Author Guidelines
- Manuscript send to the journal should be of first and original disclosure, not those which were sent to other publications.
- Manuscript should be written in English using common word-processor such as MS-Word for Windows ver. 1997–2003 (preferable) or MS-Word for Macintosh ver. 2004. Line spacing is 1.5 except for abstract, intisari, tables, picture notes, references and other notes, which should apply 1 line spacing.
- The manuscript should be written in Times New Roman 12 point, in A4 sized paper, with number of pages between 10 to 15.
- Tables and graphs should be composed in MS-Excel ver. 1997–2003 (Windows) or ver. 2004 (Macintosh); or with common graphs generator such as Kaleidagraph in wmf extension files.
- Pictures should be sent separately, one page for one picture in jpg/jpeg/tif/tiff extension files. The minimum resolution is 300 dpi.
- Tables, graphs and pictures files should be numbered descendingly according to its appearance in the text (eg. pict1.jpg, table1.xls etc). All notes on the tables, graphs, and pictures should be written as attachment to the text.
- The first page of the manuscript should present the title, name and address of the authors including telephone and facsimile numbers, and email(s). The corresponding author should be shown.
- The second page should contain titles in both Indonesian and English, author(s)’ name and address, abstract, keywords, and the text. Abstract should be about 250 words, contains research goal, methodology, and result.
- Text for full-fledged research may be composed of (1) Introduction, (2) Materials and Methods, (3) Results and Discussion, (4) Conclusion, (5) Acknowledgement, and (6) Literature Cited; for detail information, please check into the Journal Template.
- The publication date of the manuscript is decided by the editor with prior consultation to the author(s).
Guideline for Online Submission
The author should first register as Author through the following address: https://jurnal.ugm.ac.id/jpti/user/register The author should fulfill the form as detail as possible where the star marked form must be entered. After all form textbox was filled, Author clicks on “Register” button to proceed the registration. Therefore, Author is brought to online author submission interface where Author should click on “New Submission”. In the Start of a New Submission section, click on “’Click Here’: to go to step one of the five-step submission process”. The following are five steps in online submission process:
- Step 1 - Starting the Submission: The author must check-mark on the submission checklists. An author should type or copy-paste the cover letter to “Comments for the Editor”.
- Step 2 – Uploading the Submission: To upload a manuscript to this journal, click Browse on the Upload submission file item and choose the manuscript document file (.doc/.docx) to be submitted, then click "Upload" button until the file has been uploaded.
- Step 3 – Entering Submission’s Metadata: In this step, detail authors metadata should be entered including the marked corresponding author. After that, manuscript title and abstract must be uploaded by copying the text and paste in the textbox including keywords.
- Step 4 – Uploading Supplementary Files: Supplementary file should be uploaded including signed Manuscript Submission Form and Copyright Transfer Form. Therefore, click on Browse button, choose the files, and then click on Upload button.
- Step 5 – Confirming the Submission: Author should final check the uploaded manuscript documents in this step. To submit the manuscript to Jurnal Perlindungan Tanaman Indonesia, click Finish Submission button after the documents are true. The corresponding author or the principal contact will receive an acknowledgment by email and will be able to view the submission’s progress through the editorial process by logging in to the journal web address site.
After this submission, Authors who submit the manuscript will get a confirmation email about the submission. Therefore, Authors are able to track their submission status at any time by logging in to the online submission interface. The submission tracking includes a status of manuscript review and editorial process. If authors have any problems on the online submission, please contact Editorial Office at the following email:

Submission Preparation Checklist
As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
- The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
- The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, RTF, or WordPerfect document file format.
- Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
- The text is 1.5-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
- The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines, which is found in About the Journal.
- If submitting to a peer-reviewed section of the journal, the instructions in Ensuring a Blind Review have been followed.

- Publishing rights of all published articles in this journal site is owned by the Editorial Board with the consent from the author(s), but morally the right is still with the author(s).
- The legal formal rules to access the digital electronic article is under the license of Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike (CC BY-SA), which means that the journal has the right to store, change, manage database, care and publish any articles without permit from the author(s) as long as the author's name(s) as copyright holders are still written as they are.
- Manuscripts published both in hard and soft copies are made available as open acces ones, with the purpose for education, research, and record. Outside these purposes, the editorial board are not responsible of any illegal copyrights infringements.

Author Fees
This journal charges the following author fees.
Article Publication: 1500000.00 (IDR)
If this paper is accepted for publication, you will be asked to pay an Article Publication Fee to cover publications costs.
If you do not have funds to pay such fees, you will have an opportunity to waive each fee. We do not want fees to prevent the publication of worthy work.
