Kejadian Carpal Tunnel Syndrome pada Pekerja dengan Gerakan Menekan dan Berulang

Abstract
Latar Belakang: Carpal Tunnel Syndrome (CTS) terjadi karena gerakan berulang yang menekan saraf median terowongan karpal, dengan gejala berupa nyeri yang berlanjut menjadi mati rasa. Pekerjaan membuka buah kapuk membutuhkan gerakan menekan dan berulang. Terdapat keluhan nyeri dan kesemutan pada sebagian pekerja dan sebagian lain mengeluhkan tremor pada tangannya. Keluhan ini sangat dirasakan saat malam hari.
Tujuan: Menganalisis faktor risiko kejadian CTS pada pekerja pembuka buah kapuk.
Metode: Penelitian cross-sectional ini melibatkan 34 pekerja pembuka buah kapuk. Variabel usia, jenis kelamin, masa kerja, dan riwayat arthritis reumathoid dikumpulkan melalui wawancara, status gizi dihitung berdasarkan berat badan dan tinggi badan, frekuensi gerakan berulang diobservasi. Kejadian CTS diidentifikasi melalui tes Phalen.
Hasil: Umur pekerja berkisar 35‒80 tahun, mayoritas perempuan (88,2%), masa kerja 1‒8 tahun, 23,5% pekerja terdapat riwayat arthritis reumathoid, status gizi tidak normal 64,7%, 61,8% melakukan gerakan berulang, dan kejadian CTS sebesar 32,3%. Kejadian CTS berhubungan dengan masa kerja (p= 0,000), riwayat arthritis reumathoid (p=0,000), dan frekuensi gerakan berulang (p=0,001).
Kesimpulan: Kejadian CTS yang cukup tinggi perlu ditindaklanjuti dengan pengendalian faktor masa kerja, riwayat arthritis reumathoid, dan frekuensi gerakan berulang.
