is a third-year student in the International Ph.D. in Regional Development program at the University of Pecs (Hungary) and a research fellow at the Policies for Smart Specialization (POLISS) consortium research project funded under the European Union’s H2020 Research and Innovation Programme (MS- CA-ITN). He has also been a civil servant at the Jambi Province Industry and Trade Office since 2011. He earned his Bachelor of Engineering in 2006 from the Department of Chemical Engineering, Sriwijaya University (Indonesia) and his Master of Economics in 2017 from the Master of Economics Program, Jambi University (Indonesia) in regional economics and finance with a study focus on regional industrial development. His current research interests are regional policy and economy, entrepreneurship development, innovation and technological change, and regional R&D and innovation policy. He has publications in the Journal of Regional and Rural Development Planning, REGION, European Journal of Government and Economics, STI Policy and Management, European Spatial Research and Policy, and Journal of Regional Financing and Development Perspectives.

Hoang Thi Phuong Thao Doctoral School of Regional Policy and Economics, Faculty of Business and Economics, University of Pecs, Hungary Hungary
is a third-year student in the International Ph.D. in Regional Development program at the University of Pecs - Hungary. She earned her Bachelor of Tourism Development in 2006 from Dalat University - Vietnam, and her Master of Business Administration in 2012 from Bach Khoa University - Vietnam. She has been working as a lecturer at the Tourism department of Yersin University - Vietnam
since 2007. Her research interests are Tourism development, Entrepreneurship in emerging economies, and Regional policy. She has publications in the Journal of Contemporary Issues in Business and Government, Journal of Environmental Management and Tourism, Tourism, and Hospitality Management, Journal of Yersin Science, and Ho Chi Minh City Open University Journal of Science – Economics and Business Administration.
