This term was popular towards the end of the COVID-19 pandemic when everyone was forced to adapt to a situation created by a power relation context as the 'new normal' era. In the context of the post-Java War era, the contestants, both winners and losers, were both forced to adapt to the colonial socio-cultural and political forces of the 'cultuurstelsel' era as the 'new normal'. This study explains how both sides adapted to the new normal, following their respective historical and devotional duties. The victor sought to explain his moral responsibility by building political legitimacy and new hopes in the form of imaginings of an age of prosperity in Bagelen, while the loser sought to atone for defeat by building a new civilization outside Bagelen. As the winner, R.A.A. Cokronegoro wrote an autobiographical account of the Java War which became known as Babad Kedung Kebo as the political legitimacy capital to build the city of Purworejo. At the same time, as the loser Prince Diponegoro also wrote an autobiographical account of the Java War which became known as Babad Diponegoro. As for his followers, consisting of the Kyai and students, they went into a diaspora, leaving the Bagelen area to build the city of Purworejo.

Himayatul Ittihadiyah Copyright (c) 2024 Sasdaya: Gadjah Mada Journal of Humanities https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/4.0 2024-06-28 2024-06-28 8 1 1 15 10.22146/sasdaya.10542 Kampung Durian Pranan Agritourism Initiatives: An Analysis of Actor Dynamics https://dev.journal.ugm.ac.id/v3/sasdaya/article/view/12679
Developing agritourism is a useful strategy to enhance the value of the local agriculture industry. Agritourism utilises agricultural products and activities to attract tourists to rural areas. As an early stage of agritourism development, land conversion has become a supporter of attempts to create agritourism attractions. The notion of locality exists to distinguish and identify the tourism attraction area. This research focuses on durian agritourism in Padukuhan Pranan, Banjaroya Village, Kalibawang, Kulon Progo Regency, Special Region of Jogjakarta. Special attention is made to the dynamics of the local actors. Data collection was carried out using ethnographic methods through observation and in-depth interviews, for approximately three months (July-September 2023). The informants in this research were several actors involved in the development and management of Kampung Durian Pranan agritourism. The study discovered that converting the property to agritourism benefited Padukuhan Pranan by establishing the Kepranan durian as a symbol of local identity. With its central emphasis on the local populace, the Pranan Durian Village Festival serves as an outstanding instance of the substantial contributions made by community members. The collaborative efforts of local actors to effect positive change are exemplified through the festival’s design and execution, which are built upon their roles as initiators, motivators, and educators. However, it is worth noting that the reestablishment of a sustainable family farm as a means to regenerate agritourism’s sustainability has yet to transpire due to the continued dearth of interest among the younger generation in agritourism. Hence, agritourism planning needs to be designed by organising activities involving the younger generation and rebuilding family farms to create resilience and sustainability.
Hetri Yulianti Runavia Mulyasari Wiwik Sushartami Copyright (c) 2024 Sasdaya: Gadjah Mada Journal of Humanities https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/4.0 2024-06-28 2024-06-28 8 1 15 36 10.22146/sasdaya.12679 Anya’s Posttraumatic Growth Over Her Loss Trauma as Reflected in Natassa’s Critical Eleven https://dev.journal.ugm.ac.id/v3/sasdaya/article/view/13036
It has been commonly assumed that trauma only lead to a negative impact on its survivors. However, on another hand, trauma can bring positive changes. This situation is commonly said as post-traumatic growth (PTG). The PTG process takes a quite long time and each survivor has different capabilities and processes to achieve it. Anya, the main character in the novel of Critical Eleven, experiences the trauma of loss after her first baby dies. Since her baby left, Anya has been in a dark period. This research aims to determine the type of loss trauma experienced by Anya. As a trauma survivor, Anya's post-traumatic growth was also explained in this research. Two theories were utilized in this research. Freud's theory of mourning and melancholia was used to analyze the type of loss trauma that Anya experienced. Meanwhile, the post-traumatic growth theory (PTG) proposed by Tedeschi and Calhoun was used to determine Anya's post-traumatic growth domain. The primary data for this research were taken from the novel of Critical Eleven written by Ika Natassa. In addition, research related to traumatic loss and post-traumatic growth was used as supporting data. The research results show that the trauma of loss experienced by Anya is grief or mourning. Furthermore, the PTG domains found in Anya's personality reflected personal strength, inter-personal relationships, and spiritual change. In addition, this research also found that not all trauma survivors can achieve the five domains of post-traumatic growth due to the respective capabilities and life processes of each survivor.
Clara Andita Dwi Putri Wijaya Copyright (c) 2024 Sasdaya: Gadjah Mada Journal of Humanities https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/4.0 2024-06-28 2024-06-28 8 1 37 52 10.22146/sasdaya.13036 Makna Filosofis Iwel-iwel dalam Selamatan Bayi di Jawa: Kajian Linguistik Antropologis https://dev.journal.ugm.ac.id/v3/sasdaya/article/view/12353
This research aims to describe the philosophical meaning of “iwel-iwel”, a traditional Javanese food, using an anthropological linguistic approach with contextual design. Data analysis was carried out by collecting data through interview, observation, note taking and documentation techniques. After that, the process of interview transcription and notes was carried out, followed by the process of reading and analyzing the data. From data analysis, the author obtained the origin of the words and the philosophical meaning of “iwel-iwel” that were then scientifically interpreted in the discussion under the related theories and approaches. The results of this research proved that “iwel-iwel” has philosophical meanings in accordance with the values of local Javanese wisdom. “Iwel-iwel” came from the Javanese word “cemiwel” which means excited; the Arabic word “waliwalidaya” which means parent; and part of the saying “laa ilaha illallah” which means there is no God but Allah. At least “iwel-iwel” contained 10 philosophical meanings, namely (1) a symbol of balance, (2) a representation of calm, (3) a symbol of happiness, (4) respect for tradition, (5) connectedness to nature, (6) a symbol of simplicity, (7) a combination of taste and color, (8) patience and warmth, (9) experience and wisdom, and (10) a symbol of harmony.
Ari Wulandari Copyright (c) 2024 Sasdaya: Gadjah Mada Journal of Humanities https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/4.0 2024-06-28 2024-06-28 8 1 53 78 10.22146/sasdaya.12353
