https://dev.journal.ugm.ac.id/v3/BIP/article/view/7698

Introduction. This research examines two questions: first, what is the relationship between archive digitalization and religious doctrines within the Mormon Christian Community? Second, how do these implications affect the interpretation of archival spirituality? The Mormon Christian Community has developed archival institutions as one of the early organizational units and established the world's largest digital genealogical archive site. This site is open and accessible to anyone. However, studies on the connection between archive digitalization and Mormon religious doctrines are still relatively scarce.

Data Collection Methods. The research used a qualitative method based on archival research and was conducted in Indonesia from July to October 2022.

Data Analysis. The researchers used technical data analysis techniques such as selection, reduction, categorization, and conceptualization.

Results and Discussion. The familysearch.org site is a digital genealogical archive portal developed by the Mormon Christian Community. This portal evidences that archival spirituality within this community encompasses the comprehensive management of archives legitimized and oriented toward religious doctrines.

Conclusion. Archive digitalization is a part of sacred practices. In this context, archival spirituality occurs as archive management receives legitimacy and orientation from religious doctrines. Therefore, religious communities can advance archive digitalization by employing religious doctrines as a basis.
Harry Bawono

https://dev.journal.ugm.ac.id/v3/BIP/article/view/9321

Introduction. This research aims to determine the main challenges in preserving ancient manuscripts based on digitization.

Research methods. This study used descriptive qualitative method. Data was obtained through literature studies based on scientific works published from 2013 to 2023. A total of 76 scientific works consisting of theses, national and international journals were obtained from the Google Scholar database with the keywords Naskah Kuno”, “Pelestarian Naskah Kuno”, “digitisasi naskah kuno.” Meanwhile in English it is like "Ancient Manuscripts, Preservation of Ancient Manuscripts, and digitization of ancient manuscripts.

Results and Discussion. Digitized preservation of ancient manuscripts requires careful budget planning and there must be a third party willing to sponsor it on an ongoing basis. Human resources working in the field of ancient manuscript preservation must understand the factors that cause damage to ancient manuscripts; not phobic of technology; awareness to learn about the use of technology; and ready to improve technology skills. The results of digitizing ancient manuscripts are guaranteed to be accessible in their entirety as mandated by law. Avoiding technological obsolescence requires paying attention to the age of the media so that there is a guarantee of long-term use.

Conclusion. This study shows five main challenges in the process of digitizing ancient manuscript preservation, including aspects of budget, policy, human resources, accessibility and technological obsolescence. In the future, preserving ancient manuscripts through digitization must focus on these five aspects, because they are interrelated.
Testiani MakmurDudung AbdurahmanSri Rohyanti ZulaikhaDafrizal Samsudin

Introduction. This paper investigate information behavior of NCT Dream fans (The South Korean Boy Band) on Twitter. Previously, from research perspectives, fan behavior and their information behavior studies have not been discussed deeply. Fans have unique ways to use information by collaboratively creating, organizing, disseminating, and sharing information.

Research Methods. The paper used a virtual ethnographic research method with a qualitative approach. Observations were conducted to explore the exchange of information and interaction between fans with text, images, video and audio among fellow fans. Data was collected by observations, researchers played a role as participants.

Data Analysis. The paper followed the three stages of coding: open coding, axial coding, selective coding.

Results and Discussion. Fans are able to create their own information, which later it is considered as community knowledge, although the source of information is not official. The fans demonstrate collaborative, creative, sharing, and performative activities that engage further with information.

Conclusion. Fan information behavior involves information creation, information organization, information production, and production. Information behavior of fans on Twitter is informal, diverse, and evolving from the model of fan information behavior offered by Price. Furthermore, because fan behavior has shifted to textual productivity, this information behavior model is very helpful in identifying fans on social media. The paper was written using Radford's concept.

Data Collection Methods. The paper used a quantitative approach with descriptive statistics.

Data Analysis. The quantitativa data were converted to qualitative data as an importance index to show the average.

Results and Discussion. Perceptions of the content and relationship aspects are very important. The importance index of the relationship aspect showed significant. Besides, the index of opening ritual, building relationships, and closing rituals also important. The index of compensation for the lack of nonverbal cues showed less important.

Conclusion. The content and relationship aspects are perceived as very important. Relational facilitators are also perceived as important. Compensation for nonverbal cues and humor are perceived as less important. The Radford's concept can be applied in the context of librarians' perceptions of chat reference services in the context of national library in Indonesia. Further research may discuss their topic from the perspectives of content analysis of chat transcripts and users survey.

Arief Wicaksono
