Abstract
ABSTRACT The purpose of this study to determine predisposing factors (economic status of the household, children's education, perception and knowledge of children about marriage, culture and characteristics of the parents), supporting factor (the work of parents) and reinforcing factors (attitude of community leaders, religious leaders and policy makers ), which became the cause of high child marriage in Grobogan. The method in this research is method in combination with a two-stage approach, the initial stage is a secondary data analysis Early Marriage Survey conducted by the Center for Population and Policy Studies, Gadjah Mada University in collaboration with Plan Indonesia in 2011, followed by a qualitative method. Qualitative methods in-depth interviews conducted with parents, children and policy makers in order to obtain accurate data, especially regarding matters that are not covered in the secondary data. Descriptive analysis performed by the frequency distribution, Khai analysis-Square (X2) to see the difference dependent and independent variables, variables that have differences that were included in the multivariate analysis with logistic regression. The results showed that the economic status of the household, children's perceptions and knowledge about marriage, as well as the perceptions and knowledge of parents about the marriage had a significant relationship with the child marriage. Variable children's education, parents' education and occupation of parents do not have a meaningful relationship with the child marriage. Results of the qualitative analysis showed culture constitutes the main factor in the occurrence of child marriages Grobogan. The efforts made by local authorities to overcome the problems of child marriage among others, is the increase in household economic income for poor families. Culture in society that should be changed from a culture of shame if you do not perform marriages of children, be a shame if the mating child. Eroding public perception of high child marriage by way of, among others, with the socialization of the stakeholders from government, including community leaders, religious leaders can provide guidance and understanding of the impact and dangers of child marriage.
