Abstract
Ahli-ahli manajemen menggunakan istilah "otorita" dengan berbagai cara,
akan tetapi batasan bakunya adalah "kekuasaan sah", suatu hak untuk memberi
perintah atau untuk bertindak (Koontz dan O'Donnel, 1984, hal. 49). Diterapkan
pada tugas manajerial, otorita adalah kekuasaan untuk memberi perintah kepada
orang lain, untuk bertindak atau tidak bertindak dengan cara yang dipakai si
pemegang otorita dalam rangka untuk mencapai tujuan perusahaan atau
departemental.
