Comparison of Globulin in the Phases Before, During, and After Giving Therapy in Cattle Suspected Foot and Mouth Disease (FMD)

Abstract
Cows are ruminants that have high economic value and are important in people's lives. In assessing nutritional status and metabolism, especially those related to immunology, one of the biochemical clinical diagnostic tools that can be used as evaluation material is globulin. This study aims to determine the average globulin in cows infected with foot and mouth disease (FMD) before, during, and after therapy. This study used 6 cows infected with FMD from farms spread across Sleman, Yogyakarta. Blood samples were taken from the jugular vein and put into EDTA and non-EDTA vacuum tubes for analysis of total proteins and albumin. The levels of globulin were calculated by subtracting the total proteins with albumin. The average globulin in the pre-therapy phase was 3.99 ± 0.66 g/dL, during the therapy phase was 4.28 ± 0.86 g/dL, and in the after-therapy step was 4.09 ± 0.70 g/dL dL. Statistical analysis using the One Way Anova test showed that the average globulin between the phases before, during, and after administration of therapy did not show a significant difference (p>0.05). From this study, it can be concluded that the phases before, during, and after the administration of therapy did not affect the globulin value in fmd cattle.
